പതിച്ചി

Temples were treasuries in the name of the devatha. Only scholars (ie brahmins ) were allowed inside the temples and it was never meant to be a place of public worship. Infact temple worship is not part of Sanatana Dharma and it is just a imitation of Semitic Religious Practice.
